Bird in a Hole

A small bird has fallen into a hole at a golf course

This particular hole is extremely deep and has a sharp bend
in the middle, making it impossible to retrieve the bird by hand

To make matters worse, the ground around the hole is
made of hard clay, so digging the bird out isn't an option

However, there's something commonly found at a
golf course that you can use to get the bird out

What do you use to safely rescue the bird from the hole?
